Arbanija
is small and pitoresque tourist resort (500 inhabitant), situated on the north side of the island Čiovo, 4km from the city-centre of Trogir, southwest of the Čiovo's part of Trogir and Mastrinka, and northeast of Slatine.The area of Arbanija is known for beautiful beaches, coastal area overgrown with woods and many small coves.

Okrug Donji

Okrug Donji is a place on the west side of the island of Ciovo, southwest from Trogir and west of Okrug Gornji.
In the village there are few bars, restaurants and taverns with rich choice of local specialties.
Unforgettable events are fishing nights, which are held several times during the summer.
In Okrug Donji you will find a chapel of St. John the Baptist. No one knows the exact year of its built, but was first mentioned in 17th century. In the chapel is a small altar and a statue of St. John the Baptist.
Okrug Donji is a quiet place, with no big crowds, with gravel, stone and concrete beaches. It is well positioned for windsurfing and diving.
Island of Ciovo, Croatia
Ciovo is an island situated in middle Dalmatia, connected with the city Trogir by drawbridge, and administratively divided between Split, Trogir and Okrug.
Total surface of the island is 28,8 km2 and there are several villages: Okrug Donji (Lower,) Okrug Gornji (Upper), Arbanija, Slatine, Žedno and Ciovo. Čiovo is about 2 km away from the mainland on the east (cape Marjan); on the north-west, it is connected with mainland by drawbridge (in Trogir).
The island was inhabited already in prehistory and old Romans used to call it Boa (Bua, Bavo). During XV. and XVI. century the surrounding population came to the island, running away from the Turks. The south side of the island is rather uninhabited.
The Church of Our Lady of Prizidnica, with hermit facilities from 1546, situated among cliffs, lies on the southeast side of the island. The village Slatine is situated on the side of the island looking towards Split.
In the lagoon Supetarska, there was an old Croatian little church of St. Peter. Village Žedno is situated in the inland and there is the church of St. Maurice in the field, gathering place of hermits, and in the center of the village, there is the church of Bl. John of Trogir.
Arbanija is a village by the sea with Dominican convent of St. Cross, founded in XV. century. The monastery complex has cloister with the spacious garden, and quite interesting is the northern wall built like a fortress for better defense. In the church, there are also valuable paintings - heritage from the XVII. century.
In the village Čiovo there is also a Franciscan convent of St. Anthony, above the cave, former hermits' dwelling, which has preserved its appearance from the XVII. century. The convent guards the crown made of gilted silver with jewels from XIV. century, sculpture St. Magdalene by Ivan Duknović, paintings of which the most valuable is the one made by Jacopo Palma the Younger from XVII. century.Of smaller churches on Čiovo, there are the church of St. Nicholas (XIV. century), St. Andrew (VI./VII. century), St. Peter (XVI. century). Early Romanesque Church of Our Lady, situated by the sea, with Renaissance supplements, is built in memory of victory over inhabitants of Split. Okrug (Okruk) Gornji and Okrug Donji, formerly part of Trogir, are today independent separated municipality with two churches, the church of St. Tudor and the church of St. Carlo Borromeo from 18th century.

Bušinci is a small tourist resort, situated on the south side of the Island Čiovo, in close vicinity of Okrug Donji on the island Čiovo, only 6 km from Trogir. It has a gorgeous view at middle-dalmatian islands Brač, Hvar and Šolta.
The village disposes of several restaurants, cafes and shops, and nearby there are numerous gravel beaches offering hidden peace and enjoying in crystal-clear sea. Nearby there is the beach Milićevo, which offers numerous activities and a lot of fun in cafés.

It is only a few kilometers away from the town of Trogir.

Okrug Gornji

Okrug is located on the western side of the island Ciovo. It is divided into Okrug Gornji and Okrug Donji, two traditional Dalmatian villages. It is the centre of the Dalmatian micro region by its geographical position. It has a mild Mediterranean climate, dense subtropical and Mediterranean vegetation, an archipelago of picturesque little islands, uncountable little bays and beaches.
Okrug is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Croatia with its 2670 sunny hours per year.
There are a lot of restaurants and taverns in Okrug Gornji and Donji with a rich choice of original Dalmatian specialities. We offer our guests, beside a lot of sun and the clear sea also various recreation contents.
The diving- school gives the opportunity of pleasure in the beauties of the Adriatic Sea; the fitness- centre with tennis- grounds deliberates from all stresses of the modern life. Every day excursions are organized with little boats to the silent bays in the near. You can rent scooters and you can fly with parachutes on the local beach.
The nearness of Trogir (2 km), which is under protection of UNESCO, offers the possibility to discover the 2800 year old centre. You can enjoy there also the night life. You can make excursions from Ciovo to the waterfalls of the river Krka (60 km), to Split (33 km) and to the Marian Shrine in Medugorje (100km). It is significant that the Split airport is only 8 km away from our village.
The average temperature of 16° C and 281 days in the year with an average temperature above 10° C are prerequisites for a pleasant stay during the whole year.
Slatine
Slatine, island Ciovo, Croatia
The picturesque village Slatine are a small fishermen and tourist village situated on the northeastern side of the island Čiovo, only 8km from Trogir. It lies on the coast of Kaštela bay, opposite Split and peninsula Marjan, which are situated in direction east. Arbanija is situated in direction northwest of Slatina.
The island Čiovo is famous for its rich vegetation, numerous islands and little islands, stone and gravel beaches.
In the surroundings of Slatine, the coast is indented with a lot of lagoons, cliffs, gravel and stone beaches. During summer heats, the pinewoods create pleasant shade, and they are perfect either for families with small children for swimming or for those who love peace and quiet.
Beside tourism, inhabitants are mostly occupied with fishery and agriculture. The village disposes of open sport terrains for indoor soccer and basketball, restaurants and „konobe“ (wine cellars) with homemade oil, wine, fruit, vegetable and sea specialties. For those who love one-day excursions, there is a possibility of organized excursions to neighboring islands Šolta, Brac and Hvar.
During tourist season, the village is connected by ferry line Slatine - Split, and during the whole year the village is connected with Trogir and Split by city and intercity bus-lines.
